Health is one of the most essential needs of human life — yet, for many poor and underprivileged families, proper healthcare remains out of reach. In rural and tribal areas, people often suffer from preventable diseases due to a lack of medical facilities, poor hygiene, and limited awareness. Many families cannot afford to buy medicines or visit hospitals, and those suffering from chronic conditions like leprosy, paralysis, or cancer are often neglected or left untreated. At HANDinHAND Society, we believe that good health is the foundation of a strong and happy community. Every individual deserves the right to live a healthy life — free from pain, neglect, and fear. That’s why we have made health and hygiene one of our core missions.
Our healthcare initiatives are focused on reaching the most vulnerable — the poor, elderly, differently-abled, and those living in remote villages. Through free medical support, hygiene awareness, and compassionate care, we bring healing and hope where it’s needed most.
Our key activities include:
🏥 Free Medical Support:We regularly distribute medical kits and essential medicines to poor families who cannot afford treatment. Our society supports leprosy and chronic patients through continuous care and follow-up visits.
💊 Leprosy and Chronic Illness Care:At Premanagar Leprosy Colony, we help patients by providing medicines, food, and wound care. We ensure that no patient feels abandoned and that they receive both physical treatment and emotional support.
👁️ Eye Operations and Health Camps:We organize free eye camps and surgeries for individuals suffering from cataracts and other vision problems. Additionally, we conduct general health check-up camps that include testing, consultations, and free medicine distribution.
🌸 Support for Critical Patients:Our volunteers assist individuals suffering from severe health issues like cancer, paralysis, and nervous disorders by providing medicines, nutrition packs, and financial help for hospital visits.
💧 Hygiene and Cleanliness Awareness:We conduct workshops and village meetings to spread awareness about personal hygiene, sanitation, clean water, and waste management — helping communities prevent disease and maintain a healthier environment.
🤝 Pandemic & Emergency Response:During the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization distributed over 600 ration and medical kits to families affected by lockdowns. We also educated villagers on safety practices like wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing.
